My repertoire has become so vast over the years that there are dozens of great songs that I just don't get the opportunity to play any more. I was recently asked if I could put together a "one-off" show of songs from the early 80s (although a few 70s could be slipped in if relevant) that were different to the usual 80s shows - so leave out the "synth-pop" stuff (which I love!). I started with the setlist I had already prepared for the "SqueezePLUS" show, and then expanded it. What I compiled was a show full of indie/alternative anthems from the new wave period: Think The Clash, The Jam, XTC, Joe Jackson, The Police, Elvis Costello, Billy Idol.... It's a great show full of amazing music, and well worth a booking!
